The Christian Authors Guild Mission Statement:
Our mission is to glorify God within our individual arenas of influence, to provide encouragement for aspiring writers, and to share information that better equips members to disseminate Christian truths in their writing.
Our History
The Christian Authors Guild was originally formed in April of 2000 as the Cherokee Christian Writers Group by founding members Cheryl Norwood and Mike Anderson after Cheryl returned from a Christian writers conference. Within one year, the group touted a dozen members, elected officers, adopted a mission statement, and created the motto “casting a Christian wave on a secular sea.” The group initially met monthly and steadily grew by attracting members from surrounding counties. Meetings alternated between two different locations until settling into their current home at Prayer & Praise Christian Fellowship in Woodstock.
With a growing group and more writers from various genres, new group direction was developed. The renamed Christian Authors Guild began meeting twice a month. CAG began writing and self-publishing group anthologies, hosting annual writer’s conferences, and created The Wave newsletter. They also set up critique groups and established a web site, blog, by-laws, and incorporated with non-profit status.
In the years since its founding, CAG has enjoyed over 300 aspiring writers and authors as members, visitors, and guest speakers. CAG is often credited by members for honing their writing skills, providing quality writing education, and encouragement through the warm group fellowship.
Currently, CAG has about 70 members including aspiring writers of various genres from beginners to advanced and welcomes more. You can be a part of this growing Christian writers group. See “Our Meetings” page for more information.

Statement of Faith: Apostles CreedWe believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
AMEN
