Sending out a Christian Wave upon a Secular Sea

About CAG

CAGLogoWebThe Christian Authors Guild’s Mission Statement:

Our mission is to glorify God within our individual arenas of influence, to provide encouragement for aspiring writers, and to share information that better equips members to disseminate Christian truths in their writing.

Our History

The Christian Authors Guild began in April of 2000 by founding members Michael Anderson and Cheryl Norwood.  Within a year, the group touted a dozen members, elected officers, and created the motto “casting a Christian wave on a secular sea.” The group met monthly and steadily grew. Meetings were held at various locations until settling into their current home at Prayer & Praise Christian Fellowship in Woodstock, Georgia.

With a growing group from various genres, a new direction was developed. The non-profit guild began writing and self-publishing group anthologies and hosted the annual Atlanta Christian Writers Conference. They also established a web site, by-laws, and incorporated.

In the years since its founding, CAG has enjoyed over 400 aspiring writers and authors as members, visitors, and guest speakers. CAG is often credited by members for honing their writing skills, providing quality writing education, and encouragement through the warm group fellowship.

Currently, CAG has about 50 active members including aspiring writers of various genres from beginners to advanced and welcomes more. You can be a part of this growing Christian writers group. See “Our Meetings” page for more information.

Statement of Faith:  Apostles Creed

We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
