Sending out a Christian Wave upon a Secular Sea
Christian Authors Guild

Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Buttimer
Topic: " "
Elizabeth P. Buttimer, entrepreneur, manufacturer and former educator, received her Ph.D. from Georgia State University, and M.S.C. and B.A. degrees from Auburn University.
Her inspiration comes from the exotic within the everyday, the intimacies of small town life; the love of the land, powerful elements of history, nature and larger than life personalities. Stir this all in a bowl and mix it with the land, history, nature, culture and characters one meets in rural living and that’s a good concept of the landscape that frequents her writing.
She has been published in about thirty publications including in the following: The Arkansas Review, Haunted Waters Press, Splash, Poet’s Choice, Unlimited Literature, The Halcyone, The Esthetic Apostle, Cathexis Northwest Press, The Raw Art Review, Running With Water Anthology of V Press LC, Blue Mountain Review, Stoneboat, Pure Slush, Magnolia Quarterly, Reach of Song Anthology, Copperfield Review, and a chapbook, ‘Perfect, Broken or in Jagged Fragments’ published by Finishing Line Press (2019).
Dr. Buttimer received the first prize in 2018 Haunted Waters Press Poetry Open, the 2018 Natasha Trethewey Award from the Atlanta Writer’s Club, Honorable Mention in the 2019 Atlanta Writer’s Club Natasha Trethewey Award, honorable mention in the 2018 William Faulkner Literary Award presented in New Albany, Mississippi, first, second and fourth prizes in poetry 2018 Cisco Writer’s Contest and previously second prize in poetry in the national Let’s Write Contest. She received first prize for a children’s picture book in a contest sponsored by Seven Hills Literary Review and Tallahassee Writer’s Association and published in Seven Hills Literary Review.
