Sending out a Christian Wave upon a Secular Sea

About Us

Our mission is to glorify God within our individual arenas of influence, to provide encouragement for aspiring writers, and to share information that better equips members to disseminate Christian truths in their writing.

Our History

The Christian Authors Guild was founded in April of 2000 by Michael Anderson and Cheryl Norwood. Within a year, the group touted a dozen members, elected officers, and created the motto “Sending out a Christian Wave upon a Secular Sea.” The group met monthly and steadily grew.

Meetings were held at various locations until settling into their current home at Prayer & Praise Christian Fellowship in Woodstock, Georgia.

With a growing group from various genres, a new direction was developed. They established, by-laws, a website, and incorporated. The non-profit guild began writing and self-publishing group anthologies and hosted the annual Atlanta Christian Writers Conference. They also established a web site, by-laws, and incorporated.

In the years since its founding, CAG has enjoyed over 400 aspiring writers and authors as members, visitors, and guest speakers. CAG is
often credited by members for honing their writing skills, providing quality writing education, and encouragement through the warm group fellowship.

Currently, CAG has about 30 active members including aspiring writers of various genres from beginners to advanced and welcomes more. You can be a part of this growing Christian writers group. See “Our Meetings” page for more information.
